Adoption Fairs

We need volunteers to help with adoption fairs every Saturday and Sunday. We are looking for adoption fair leaders who can pick up the animals in the morning, transport them to the adoption fair, and process adoption applications at the fair. We are also looking for volunteers who can meet the leader at the adoption fair site, hold animals during the fair, help give customers information about the animals, and solicit donations.

The Guilford County Animal Shelter needs volunteers who can help with our various events. We have rabies clinics where volunteers would assist with paperwork, pet educations at schools, churches, and assisted living centers, and fundraisers, to name a few. If you are primarily interested in helping with off-site events, we would love to have your help!

Foster Parents

We need volunteers that can offer up their home as a temporary residency for some of our pets. We need homes for mothers that are nursing young, as well as orphans that are too young for adoption. This experience is temporary, ranging from two to eight weeks. During this foster period, the foster parent is responsible for bringing the animal(s) back to the shelter for routine vaccinations and treatments. These animals are then returned to the shelter and placed in adoption.
