Thanks to all who came out to the Guilford County Family Justice Center’s 2nd Anniversary Men for Change event on Thursday, June 15, 2017. During this year’s event our partnership spotlighted men who are making a difference and creating pathways for hope and healing in the community.
In our first two years of operation, the FJC coordinated support to nearly 11,000 children and adults from a diverse range of professionals working in the field of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and elder abuse. While the FJC partnership is committed to providing easily accessible, coordinated care to those experiencing abuse, the need for ongoing outreach, awareness, and prevention is a top priority.
The Men for Change event highlighted male community leaders who are working to create a safer community for all. The event honored fathers, brothers, grandparents, mentors, and community change makers who model healthy relationships and who will publicly proclaim their commitment to improving the lives of others.
The event concluded with a signing ceremony for all in attendance to pledge their support for efforts that promote healthy relationships and engage men in modeling behaviors that promote equality and safety.
