Environmental Enforcement is responsible for the administration of Guilford County’s Solid Waste Ordinance. The provisions of the ordinance regulate the proper disposal of waste materials and open burning.

The proper disposal of waste is important because it has a great effect on our environment and our community. Improper disposal includes illegal dumping, burying waste material on unpermitted sites, or disposing of regulated or hazardous materials in landfills. Open burning is regulated by the State of North Carolina and is only permitted in very specific cases. For more information about permissible burning or to report illegal burning, click here.
