Guilford County announces the Grand Opening of two preserves on Friday, April 28th.

Saferight Preserve:

Guilford County announces the Grand Opening of the Saferight Preserve.  Located just east of Southern Guilford High School, across Drake road, this property is host to unique varieties of tree species found along the trail.  A winding path through this property was created to be educational and relaxing.

To celebrate the opening of this Arbor trail, an Official Grand Opening Ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, April 28 at 9:00am.  Parking can be found at Southern Guilford High School, 5700 Drake Road, just past the corner of Drake and Wall Road.

McCandless Woods Preserve:

Guilford County announces the Grand Opening of the McCandless Woods Preserve.  This 30 Acre Property is directly adjacent to Southern Guilford High School and Southern Guilford Elementary School and is full of Natural landscapes and wildlife.  The Preserve is host to an excellent trail network that incorporates stunning ridge lines, old Hardwoods, and ample stream traversing to providing unique outdoor education and recreation.

To celebrate the opening McCandless Woods Preserve an Official Grand Opening Ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, April 28 at 10:00am.  Parking can be found at Southern Guilford Elementary School.
