The Guilford County Child Fatality Prevention/ Community Protection Teams (CFPT/CCPT) are seeking nominees for its “Safety Makes Cents” award, a $1000 citation for outstanding work in the field of childhood injury prevention. Interested groups or agencies whose injury prevention efforts have proven to reduce childhood fatalities are invited to apply.

An application form is required for submission and is available by contacting Melissa Burkes at 336-641-6253 or Applications must be emailed, faxed or postmarked by 5:00 p.m. April 13th, 2017. For consideration of the award, applicants may prepare a brief (5-10 minutes) description of your agency and how the funds would be used to reduce child injuries/fatalities for presentation on April 20, 2017. The winner will be notified by May 3rd, 2017 and the monetary award will be presented on June 15, 2017 at the Guilford County Child Fatality Prevention Team meeting.
